Day 1: Delhi
On the first day of Sikh Pilgrimage tour, arrive at Delhi International Airport. Take the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Gurudwara of Delhi-Gurudwara Sisganj, Gurudwara Bangla sahib and Gurudwara Rakabganj. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Delhi Chandigarh
After breakfast, start your early morning drive to Chandigarh. On arrival take the hotel and take rest for a while. In the afternoon visit Parivar Vichorra. It is about 2 hours drive from Chandigarh. It is a sacred spot where Guru Govind Singh took shelter after vacating the Anandpur Sahib following the Mughal invasion. Thereafter visit the Anandpur Sahib, the fortress temple located on the bank of Satluj River. This Gurudwara was founded by the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur. Drive back to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 3: Chandigarh Amritsar (250 kms)
After breakfast, explore the Chandigarh city. This is the first planned city of India after independence. Visit the Museum, High Court, Assembly Chamber and Rock Garden. Afternoon drive to Amritsar located on the north-western border of the country. On arrival check in at a hotel.
The fourth Guru, Guru Ramdas founded this city and it has been the seat of Sikh religion from its very beginning. This 400 years old city is known for its Golden Temple. The literal meaning of Amritsar is Pool of Nectar named after the holy pond around the temple.
Day 4: Amritsar (Tarn Taran-Gobindwal-Hazoor Sahib)
As a part of your Golden Temple pilgrimage tour, you will explore the Golden Temple today in the morning. Located in middle of Amrit Sagar Lake, this temple looks wonderful with its gold beauty. Maharaja Ranjit Singh built this temple in 1803. 400 kg of gold leaf cover the dome of the temple, hence it is known as Golden Temple. The interiors are decorated with flora patterns done with semi precious stones. Then you would set out your excursion tour to Taran Taran, Gobindwal and Hazoor Sahib. The Gurudwara of Taran Taran is built in memory of Guru Arjun Dev. It is believed that the waters of tank can cure the leprosy. Visit the Gurudwara of Gobindwal and Hazoor Sahib. After visiting these places return back to Amritsar and stay overnight.
Day 5: Amritsar (Jalianwala Bagh-Baba Bakala)
Morning visit Jalianwala Bagh. It is about 30 minutes drive from the city. This is the site of Jalianwala Massacre where thousands of civilians lost their lives in the open fire by British General Michael Dyer on April 13, 1919. A national monument was built here as a memorial.
Then visit Baba Bakala which houses a Gurudwara and this is related to Guru Tegh Bahadur. The fair held here during the Raksha Bandhan festival is a great fair where thousands of people gather. Return back to the city hotel and stay overnight.
Day 6: Amritsar Delhi
Board the fastest train Shatabdi Express for Delhi. On arrival you would be transferred to the hotel. The rest of time you can explore the attractions of Delhi. You can explore New Delhi and its monuments. Go on a shopping spree as Delhi is a paradise for the shoppers.
Day 7: Delhi Departure
After breakfast, tour Old Delhi and its attractions like Red Fort, Jama Masjid and the Chandi Chowk market. This was one time Mughal capital of Emperor Shah Jahan. Your Golden temple tour comes to an end. Board the flight back home.
